Powder Coating

A well-tuned powder coating fluidizing hopper ensures stable powder flow, even charging, and consistent film build. BLUETEE recommends using clean, dry air (with dryer/filters), verifying fluidizing plate integrity, and setting air pressure to gently “boil” the powder without bubbling over. Proper aeration minimizes surging, spitting, and density shifts that cause orange peel or thin spots. Maintain powder temperature near room conditions, mix reclaimed with virgin at controlled ratios, and sieve regularly to remove agglomerates. With a stable hopper and correct gun settings (kV/μA), operators achieve smooth application, higher transfer efficiency, and fewer defects on complex parts.
